Thank you for showing interest in our exciting church located just outside of the small town of South Boston, Virginia. True Light Baptist Church held its first service on January 7, 2007, and the Lord has been so very faithful to us.
For the first few years, God provided a wonderful place to meet in a beautiful early-1900s vacated church building. It was certainly exciting days leading up to the first service, as people gathered in the middle of cold weather to prepare both the inside and outside of the building in anticipation of a great first meeting.
God had led Pastor Greg Thomas and his family from Bassett, Virginia, to be the founding and current Pastor of the church. God showed an abundance of grace and help, and within a few short years, He miraculously provided the property consisting of over 26 acres where we currently meet only a few miles from our previous location. Against multiple obstacles and seemingly impossible odds, God saw fit to allow us to see our beautiful new facility completed located at 8139 Huell Matthews Highway in Alton, Virginia.
True Light Baptist Church has been blessed beyond measure. We are thankful for the souls that have been saved and for the privilege of being allowed by God to be a shining light to our area and beyond. We are unworthy of His blessings but are thankful to be recipients of them.
