I'm New To True Light Baptist Church
What should I expect?

We here at True Light Baptist Church are excited that you are praying about your first visit. We know that when you walk into any unfamiliar place, it can be a little unsettling at first. With that in mind, allow us to give you a little bit of information as to what to expect the moment of your arrival.

Though we have not yet entered the paving stage, you will find an abundance of parking area. As you enter the church main lobby, you will immediately be greeted by the smiling faces of members that are authentically glad to see you. They will be happy to assist you with the location of our restroom facilities, nursery, etc. From the lobby, you will enter into the spacious fan-style auditorium that is meticulously kept by wonderful volunteers from the church. You will also find that you do not have to be concerned about sitting in "someone's seat." If it is where someone might typically sit, they will be happy to make you feel at home beside you!

The church service will usually begin with the congregation singing an exciting and Christ-honoring hymn. We believe in singing with your whole heart unto the Lord. After a few comments and announcements, we will typically have a special songor more depending on the Lord's leadingby one of the several talented members of the church. You will notice that the songs are not performed, but rather sang in genuine worship unto the Lord. If you were to ask us about what style of music we have, we would say that we are traditional with life!

After the special music, Pastor Thomas or a guest preacher will deliver a compassionate, non-compromising message from the King James Bible, with prayers that God will speak and move powerfully. Typically, our services will last from one hour to one hour and fifteen minutes.

As for dress attire, you will find a large portion of our membership in their "Sunday best." However, we do not want that to be a hindrance to you being our guest. You will find that our membership wil be most happy to see you!

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, it would be very common to see our ladies hug one another. We would also have a short time of fellowship and greeting of guests during the early portion of our services. We greatly look forward to those times once again. Also, we currently have no offering with ushers. In its place, we have offering plates located at each entrance door into the auditorium. As a guest, you are certainly welcome to participate in giving, but it is not expected of you.

If you have any other questions or concerns prior to your visit, please feel free to call us at (434) 572-9777. We are excited to soon meet you!
